Firefox In The Lead

Hello boys and girls. Today’s topic is… browser statistics. Before we continue, you may want to have a quick look at Phono Phunk’s browser stats (updated each month). Interesting aren’t they? Now, I’m not going to pretend I understand some of the strange activity in a few spots, but overall I see an extremely clear trend. Internet Explorer usage is dropping while Firefox usage increases. As a matter of fact, last month shows us that Firefox gains a lead for the first time, while IE usage is at an all time low. I’ve been a big Firefox fan for a while now, so it’s great to see that most of my viewers are starting to use it too.

Oh… and let’s not forget the community support Firefox is getting right now. Even Robert Scoble noticed the bling bling collected by Mozilla Foundation’s New York Times fund-raiser.

Woah! I love the design of that stats page. When you hover over the table, the cell you’re pointing at gets highlighted — how cool!

But the content also rocks. It’s a good thing that the world now uses Firefox more and more. Not only for webmasters, but for “normal” users, too. Firefox for president!

Everyone’s talking about the spreading of Firefox. It’s good news! I’m a Firefox user myself, but I especially enjoy seeing IE’s market share dropping more and more! Estimates vary a lot, however, they all predict Firefox’s share to grow significantly.

I have been seeing a similar thing on my weblog’s browser stats - actually even fewer IE users. Very glad. :-)

Indeed one nifty table. It’s a good thing that better browsers take over. Good for the semantic web, good for development and good for the people that need quality web sites. The excuse ‘it’s a hardly used browser’ can go in the bin.

I’ve been using Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird since over a year now and I love to see how the development evolves. Every version is stabler, greater in features and those extensions/themes are lovely. Go Mozilla Go!! ;)

The only “bad” thing that I would have to tell to Mozilla Developers is to make it even more standards compatible.

I styled my Mozilla like that

Phonophunk: Wow, once again a very cool design of yours - the stats look awesome. I wish my Webalizer Stats would look like that ;))

Looks like Firefox 1.0 is out! The server is crapping out big time :)
