Holy Shit the Big Three Oh

23 Sep 2005 10:29 PM

I just turned 30.

I still feel like a teenager.

I keep thinking, “What am I doing with my life?”

I keep hearing, “It’s all downhill from here.”

Strange thing is, I’m happier now than I’ve ever been before.

Life is good.

Asia Earthquake / Tsunami Relief

28 Dec 2004 11:22 PM

I’ve been glued to the TV and news sites all day today. The death toll keeps rising and is over 28,000 according to The Age. UNICEF estimates at least a third of the dead were children. We can all do our part to help these people in a time of great need.

Merry Christmas

25 Dec 2004 04:06 PM

I hope everyone is enjoying their Christmas as much as I am. I just finished up the traditional Christmas BBQ with the family. Great weather, great food, great music and great alcohol :) Ah… it doesn’t get much better than this. It’s funny how the simple things in life give you the most pleasure the older you get. I remember being 18 and hating the whole “Christmas with the parents” thing! Now, I couldn’t think of a nicer way to spend Christmas.

I hate to admit it, but this year was the first year I actually bought something for my parents. I usually just give them some cash because I’m too lazy to go shopping. I decided to buy a “real” BBQ and a DVD/video combo. Now that summer is here, the BBQ will come in handy and everyone likes sitting in front of the idiot box to watch a few flicks.

So, Merry Christmas everyone. Have a good one! :)

Over The Hill

23 Sep 2004 12:33 AM

It’s official. I’m over the hill. Today I turn 29. I got some great encouraging words from my sister earlier on. “Bro, in a few hours you’re gonna be over the HILL!” Ah, you can always count on family to cheer you up!

Something happened yesterday that cheered me up though. I went to the local service station to pick up a packet of smokes. The girl behind the counter smirked at me and asked to see some ID. “ID? You’re trying to flatter me right?", I replied. She was a little shocked when I showed it to her. I guess I must be doing alright if she thought I was under 18!

Happy Birthday to me.

Red Cars Go Faster

Red cars go faster

After spending almost an entire year without a car, I finally took the plunge and bought one last week. It’s a 1991 BMW 318i E36, 5 speed manual, 4 door sedan. My new baby has a few bumps and scratches here and there. She has also done quite a few kilometres and the paint job is a little faded. Overall, nothing out of the ordinary for a car of this age. The thing that closed the deal for me was the extremely cheap price (and the well known proven fact that red cars go faster)! Here are a few shots I took earlier today: front, front/side, side and back.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year

Happy new year to everyone! I know it’s a few days late, but it couldn’t be helped. I was woken up by a loud clicking sound in the early hours of new years eve, wondering what the hell it was. Turns out my primary drive decided it was time to die. It was a 2 year old 40GB Quantum HD given to me by my boss.

I decided to replace it with a 120GB Western Digital, since I already have 1 in this box and love it. The only problem was finding a store with one in stock around this time of year. Either the store was closed or they didn’t keep large hard drives in stock. I’ve been using an old 3GB HD temporarily, until a few days ago, when I discovered my buddy DJ Jeff Tyler had a new 120GB Western Digital HD sitting in his cupboard. Special thanks to Jeff for the new drive (you still owe me though!).

While I’m at it, I’d also like to thank everyone that has linked to this site for one reason or another. So, a big thank you to:

Happy Birthday To Me

23 Sep 2003 10:35 AM

Today is a sad day. I’ve hit the big two-eight. Uggh 28. That sounds so old! I remember when birthdays were a happy occasion. Now, they just creep up on you so fast. The next thing you know, you’re putting your false teeth away and being tucked in by a staff member at the nursing home. Thinking about it too much only gets me down. Oh well, at least I still have my good looks…

You may have noticed that it’s been a while since I last updated this site. It looks like it’s going to stay that way until I get some sort of inspiration back. The site just doesn’t feel very important to me right now. Nothing much is happening on the musical side either. Hopefully it won’t take me too long to get out of this rut. Am I going through some sort of phase or something?

Where Have You Been?

19 Oct 2002 03:24 PM

Just a quick note to everyone emailing me. Yes, I’m still around and haven’t abandoned the site. I’ve taken on a very big project at work which is basically eating up all of my free time. The project should be complete mid December, so expect more from me later!
