About Phono Phunk
Phono Phunk is my own personal, experimental space on the web. The design has been constantly evolving since 1998, but the content remains pretty much the same. I basically use the site to show off my music. I also add entries into the news page whenever I have something to say. Nothing too exciting really.

FAQs
This FAQ attempts to answer every possible question you would ever want to know about me and my site. After reading it, you should know me better than my own mother. There couldn’t possibly be any reason for you to email me with any more questions!
- Why do they call you “JB”?
- Why JB? Well, back in high school, a friend of mine use to call me “Johnny Bananas”. Don’t ask me why. Maybe it was because I have such a big banana? A few years later, his house mate decided it would be cool to shorten it to JB. I’ve been stuck with it ever since.
- Did you take the photos on your site?
- No. The large “photos” you see at the top of each page are actually composited using several random images I have collected over the years. I thought this was obvious (obviously not!). For example, the news page image contains separate images for the legs, the wall, the floor and the speakers. I tried to create a seamless blend between all the parts by adding lighting, shading, drop-shadows, reflections, blending, logos etc. Finally, the entire image was re-coloured to match the rest of the site. Unfortunately, I can’t remember the original source of each image because I didn’t note it down at the time (sorry).
- What program did you use to create the graphics and code?
- I normally always use Photoshop at work, but this design was a bit unusual for me. I started sketching the original idea using The Gimp, after installing Linux on a test partition. About 60% of the design was created in the Gimp and the rest in Photoshop. The xhtml/css/php was all hand coded using TopStyle Pro. Most people think TopStyle can only be used for editing CSS, but the latest version does much more!
- Who is the girl? Is she your girlfriend? Can I get her number? etc.
- Firstly, it’s not all the same girl. I have no idea who the girls are. I wish they were my girlfriends. I don’t have any of their phone numbers, but if you do, please feel free to pass them on to me!!
- Do you have some sort of obsession with women’s legs?
- Well, are you trying to tell me that you don’t?! My psychiatrist tells me it’s normal. Actually, he was the one that sent in the previous question.
Well, I think that should cover it. If you would like to know anything else about me or this site (is that even possible?), then you can send me your questions via the contact page.
